What’s One Thing You Want to Shift Right Now?

Recently, I sat across from Sky, a medical professional who’d just wrapped up a marathon day of clinics, carpools, and dinner prep before logging into our Google Meet. She arrived exhausted, tears threatening to spill over. We began our regular mindful practice before our conversation began, and she exhaled and offered me a small smile.

Gently, I asked her, “What’s one thing in your life you want to shift or move forward in right now?” She paused, cradling her camomile tea, then let out a deep sigh. Her eyes glistened as she replied, “I want to stop feeling stuck. I want clarity.”

That one sentence? It’s the heartbeat of what I do.

I’ve seen this again and again—capable, driven people standing at a crossroads, not because they lack answers, but because overwhelm and constant challenges have pushed their inner voice too far within.

We all reach a moment of choice. Sometimes it’s a career that no longer aligns, a relationship that drains us instead of nourishing, or a dream that has been put on the back burner far too long and the hardest part isn’t making the decision—it’s allowing ourselves to consider change.

Have you caught yourself thinking:

“I should be grateful for what I have.”

“What if I fail?”

Here’s what I’ve learned: clarity doesn’t come before the decision. It comes because of it. The instant you allow yourself to explore a shift, even just in thought, the fog starts to lift.

Today, try one small action: ask yourself,

What’s one thing I’m ready to shift in my life right now?

Write it down, speak it aloud, share it with someone you trust. Once you make that move, everything begins to fall into place.
